Original Drawing by Tony Woodhouse.
This is a view of Dunstable from the South showing the Dominican Friary on the west side of Watling Street, and the Eleanor Cross at the crossroads where the pre-historic Icknield Way meets the Roman Watling Street (A5).
The Augustinian Priory is on the right of the picture. Priory House, the town’s Heritage Centre and Tourist Information Centre is adjacent to the Priory’s gateway onto the London Road (A5).
