The Archaeologists will;

• Permanently mark the foundations of the Augustinian Priory and commemorate with a plaque the site of the Lady Chapel, where the decision of Cranmer and the bishops began the English Reformation.
• Geophys to find more Priory buildings
• Research the medieval row of shops known as Middle Row
• Research the Dominican Friary established in Dunstable in 1259
• Produce a plan of the medieval town

To Date;

Photos of things ‘we did earlier’ show some of the finds made in the town and the layout of the Augustinian Priory.

Tony Woodhouse, a member of the Manshead has contributed some fabulous conjectural drawings of the town and Priory in medieval times.

The ‘geophys’ has begun in late 2011 and we have now met with English Heritage to give us the permissions we need for the markers.
